The Karen Hospital Medical Training College Celebrates Its 6th Graduation Ceremony!

On 21st November 2025, The Karen Hospital Medical Training College (TKHMTC) proudly held its 6th Graduation Ceremony at The Karen Hospital, Lang’ata Road, Karen. The occasion brought together distinguished guests, faculty, healthcare partners, families, and friends to celebrate the academic success and professional readiness of the Class of 2025.

A total of 136 graduands successfully completed their training, making this the largest graduating class in the history of the College.

Graduation Theme: New Frontiers of Technology in Healthcare Training

The 6th Graduation Ceremony was guided by the theme “New Frontiers of Technology in Healthcare Training,” reflecting TKHMTC’s commitment to producing healthcare professionals who are equipped for a rapidly evolving, technology-driven healthcare landscape.

Through simulation-based learning, digital platforms, structured clinical exposure, and advanced specialty programmes, the College continues to integrate innovation while upholding its core pillars of academic excellence, discipline, and professionalism.

Messages from Leadership

Chairman of the Board – Dr. Betty Gikonyo

In her goodwill message, the Chairman emphasized the importance of balancing innovation with humanity in healthcare practice:

“While machines may assist, they do not care. Software may analyze, but it does not feel. The greatest healing still happens through empathy, kindness, patience, and integrity. Never let innovation replace humanity. Let it support it.”

She congratulated the graduands on their resilience and reminded them that character and compassion remain central to effective healthcare delivery.

• Diploma in Kenya Registered Nursing

• Diploma in Peri-operative Theatre Technology

• Certificate/Diploma in Community Health

• Higher Diploma in Cardiology

• Higher Diploma in Cardiopulmonary Perfusion

As they take their place in the healthcare workforce, the Class of 2025 carries forward TKHMTC’s mission of delivering competent, ethical, innovative, and compassionate healthcare both locally and internationally.

TKHMTC Dominates on the Field!

The Karen Hospital Medical Training College is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of its football teams at the recent Intercollege Football Tournament held within Nairobi County. This highly anticipated event brought together top collegiate teams from across the region, testing skill, endurance, and competitive spirit in both the Male and Female categories.

TKHMTC’s football contingent delivered outstanding performances from the first kickoff to the final whistle, showcasing tactical prowess, teamwork, and resilience on the pitch. Both our men’s and women’s sides demonstrated exceptional athleticism and sportsmanship, ultimately securing victory and bringing home championship honours for the college.

The Intercollege Tournament is more than just a sporting competition — it is a celebration of dedication, camaraderie, and the pursuit of excellence beyond the classroom. Representing TKHMTC with pride and determination, our athletes exemplified the values of discipline, respect, and unity throughout the tournament. 

These victories are a testament to the hard work of the players, the support of coaching staff, and the enthusiastic encouragement of the entire TKHMTC community. As we celebrate our champions, we also look forward to further opportunities for our students to shine in future athletic and extracurricular arenas.

The Brass Band program offers comprehensive training for all its members, guided by highly qualified music professionals. Over the years, the TKHMTC Brass Band has elevated numerous college events with its electrifying performances. The ceremony celebrated the achievement of 55 graduates who successfully completed their medical and healthcare training, ready to join Kenya’s growing healthcare workforce.

The event was a moment of pride and reflection for the entire TKHMTC community, bringing together college leadership, faculty members, parents, guardians, healthcare partners, and invited guests to honor the dedication and perseverance of the graduating class.

The November 2023 graduating cohort represented three key professional programmes that are critical to modern healthcare delivery:

• Diploma in Nursing (Kenya Registered Nursing – KRN)

• Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technology (POTT)

• Higher Diploma in Cardiology and Cardiopulmonary Perfusion

Each programme combines academic rigor with hands-on clinical exposure, ensuring graduates are well prepared to deliver safe, ethical, and patient-centered care in hospitals and specialized healthcare facilities.
